Abstract

This project presents the implementation of a SCORM-to-xAPI Wrapper designed to bridge SCORM-compliant e-learning content with modern xAPI-compatible Learning Record Stores (LRS). The wrapper supports both SCORM 1.2 Run-Time API and SCORM 2004 Run-Time API, enabling seamless integration and tracking of learning activities. It automates the conversion of SCORM Data Model elements into corresponding xAPI statements, ensuring compatibility with xAPI standards while maintaining SCORM functionality.

The wrapper simplifies the adoption of xAPI by allowing existing SCORM packages to generate xAPI statements, which can be stored in an xAPI-compatible LRS, such as Learning Locker. The project's prototype successfully demonstrated the wrapper's functionality, confirming its ability to meet the goal of efficient and reliable SCORM-to-xAPI conversion. This solution offers a practical approach for organizations transitioning to xAPI while leveraging their existing SCORM-based content.
